So, anyone see things they like? Dislike?
What’s this "Military Tablet from Endgame" they are saying they added for people to use elsewhere?

Merged threads, and moved Arma 3 Updates to Arma Lounge.
Didn’t have time to look at changelog yet.
How do we feel about the stamina system? from what I’ve read, weight now only impacts your ability to sprint, so you can run indefinitely. The good news is that they’ve added more options for modders, and apparently one of the devs is making a mod to mimic the old stamina system as an example: Steam Workshop::Legacy Fatigue Mod
[]Fixed: Hand placement on the butt shuffling animation
[]Tweaked: Sitting down movement animations
Hmm … buttsliding!
Come on now …
They added a Stamina bar of their own…and I really like it.
EDIT:
Added: Front cargo gunners in Offroad are able to stand up and fire
Guys. What. Awesome.
Tweaked: Optimized performance of 20 & 40 mm grenade shells:
Scaled down impact damage of 40 mm grenade shell. It is still well capable to destroy MRAP wheels as it is supposed to. Splash damage remains unchanged.
Scaled down impact damage of 20 mm grenade shell (so that impact is less powerful than a 20 mm bullet) by 50%, but increased splash damage by 50% (needed for GMG)
Scaled down HEDP direct damage to more reasonable levels. Splash damage remains unchanged.
aww.
EDIT 2: Just had a fatal crash when testing. Might be nothing, might be something big.
I love the new stamina system. Now I actually feel like a trained soldier and not an obesed and asthmatic airsoft player.
How many things are broken? My mate who is running a liberation server is out of his mind, he says it’s literally broken.
Hell yeah.
EDIT: I gotta say…the stand and fire front in the offroad thing is fucking great.
If I recall correctly - old stamina system is an optional thing in server configuration. Dev’s mentioned it in their blog post some time ago. So you can use either new system or old, depending on prefference.
Edit:
Can’t find it anymore. It was in one of the SitRep’s. It looks like they changed the approach to promote a different thing - Arma 3 Samples with use of it. Thats… nasty.
They put the old stamina system up as a mod on steam workshop.
EDIT: Nevermind, I notice now that Xers linked the mod.
Nothing seems broken so far. I am able to replicate the crash error, but it only happens when spawning individual LOP units VERY close together…I tried it for around an hour yesterday and couldn’t get it to throw the crash ‘under normal circumstances’…so as long as our GMs are spawning blufor and opfor literally right next to each other, everything is fine. I haven’t seen anything else broken so far.
Just a heads up, ACE updated as well.
EDIT: Hey, 11355973 or 11341464,
When can we expect the server to be updated as well? I was hoping to hop on for some tests.
Server has been updated.
BIS was looking out for 1583435 on this one.
About the new update :
This is a topic I’d love to explore, because, although major A3 updates always break the game for a day at least , due to mods having to catch up as well, I am still a partisan of using core Arma functionalities. Definitely would like to implement this for PvP, if it feels like feature complete.
And for BI’s defense, the new version in development was available on a special 1.54 dev branch and announced weeks ago, and that is why major mods like ACE3 immediately had an update available. It is definitely a challenge for BI to release major core engine enhancements, while taking care of the modder’s community. Releasing their changes on the dev branch publicly everyday is probably the best possible effort. The only thing I never really catch, is the date at which they release their updates… always seems to come like a surprise to most of us.
Well, with the new stamina system, the "weapons down" stance has lost its meaning for anything except briefing/debriefing. We were taking often stamina breaks not because the fatigue system was too strict, but because people kept jogging with weapons up (under jaw) all the time. During most of our stamina breaks, I was on "green", see my research on the huge difference between the stances.
Yes, it needed a bit more tuning to make it more realistic, but not this arcade-ish overhaul:
Stamina work as reservoir used for Sprinting in vanilla game. Full Stamina bar allows for 60 seconds of Sprinting (staminaDuration). However, as carried equipment fills up your Inventory bar, the exact same portion is also reserved from the overall Stamina and thus cannot be used for Sprinting. Total mass of the entire inventory bar is defined to be 1000 mass units (parameter maxSoldierLoad defined in class CfgInventoryGlobalVariable).
Whatever remains at your disposal is your Stamina pool. Whenever you exhaust all of your Stamina pool, you have to recuperate for 10 seconds (staminaCooldown) until you can Sprint again, but Stamina pool is regenerating during this exhaustion period. The whole Stamina pool always regenerate in 30 seconds (staminaRestoration) from the total exhaustion to the full, regardless of how much Stamina it actually is. Less equipped soldiers can therefore Sprint for longer and will regenerate their Stamina faster than more equipped ones.
I remember the early days of fatigue in Arma 3 (when I was checking it out with friends) and it was plain horrible, but they tuned it over time and it was decent. Now they decided to remove it and go for the CoD-style sprint buffer, going as far as officially stating that the formula is incredibly simple and based on fixed time intervals.
You can now go full weight, with heavy MG, big AA launcher, carryall backpack, …, without all of that really affecting you, since how often do you really need to sprint …
Maybe it’s just me, I don’t know, I guess I’m the minority. Even OPFL had better fatigue simulation now (though you could cheat it by moving diagonally).
I can tell you now…after playing with it, I don’t like it. We either need to drop a serious amount of gear or use the legacy mod, but that’s my opinion.
Disregard what I said earlier, the new stamina system is worse than rotten dog shit. Arma 3 became a pretty accurate simulation of me at the gym, fainting after every couple of minutes I move. This made sitting a challenging exercise and it transformed asthma into an STD.

Seems like Dslyecxi ain’t a fan either:
I’m honestly not seeing a drop in performance…I earnestly think that’s due to ACE handling a lot of our stuff. I’ve actually seen better performance if anything.
The stamina system is shit though. I really, really think we need to get a ‘fix’ ready for it. We’ll see how it goes in the operation tomorrow, and I’ll offer the option for going with a lighter load and having resup-drops ready…but with our current load outs and hell, even ones that are stripped down…it doesn’t work. I love the bar, but otherwise I hate it. Its unrealistic and the weapon sway is fucking broken.
Again, we’ll see how it goes tomorrow, but I’m already leaning towards us implementing the legacy mod.
I don’t think the Legacy Fatigue mod changes the weight you can carry. Btw, vanilla sniper loadout is pretty heavy now even without a backpack, the soldier just can’t carry those few .408 rounds uphill without regurgitating his lungs. (Tried without mods as well, the bar is very much the same.)
I haven’t noticed any performance issues, but lots of smaller bugs (mostly ACE3, most of them already reported on github), so looking forward to the next hotfix release.
