Training: Fireteam Qualification

Liked having a lot of action even though it was a training! I also saw a lot more attention on squad formations and contact callouts, which is a sign of improvement right after getting told how to do it

On the CQB-non-CQB topic, I only expected more compact action instead of being so spread out as units but that’s due to the map design and requirements for not getting wiped out as a platoon. Which we did a great job in keeping away from. Massive thanks to Koffer and Stoneowl for bringing me back to life from the realms of Death 4 times.

Also, good effort boys on Yellow team of Alpha and to SL for what I consider one of the most successful movement executions in weeks (if not years).

Thanks for putting this together Chu, I sometimes underestimate the need for basic training but a refresh is always useful.

Seconded, I would actually prefer "general" trainings to occur more often.

I think our specialists such as pilots and vic commanders are in a good spot, and that kind of knowledge is not lost very easily because it would mean losing the asset which we don’t get to use every Op. It translates into being more "switched on" while in such an asset.

On the flipside everyone dies sometimes as infantry, and over time our casual nature creeps into how we deal with contacts, communication becomes sloppy, and we become reckless.

More refreshers and fire team trainings would alleviate that. Its also why I agree with 7849506 that our specialists should not have to repeat their training every 6 months. Rather, we should do more generalist trainings.

All that aside, I had fun! Was a bit annoyed with being railroaded down the main road on the second part but I think everyone did pretty well.

Great Training cheers guys!

Just one observation I made after the mission, was that the patrol objectives are rather large for 1 squad not sure if a few patrol lanes should be set up specifically for squad sized training i.e. one bunker.

Maybe in an area that will not make use of terrain best suited for a platoon i.e. just a flat forest area so fireteams can remain very close.
