As an additional option, Malden is apparently based on the peninsula of Lefkada which is conveniently a 1 hour trip from the Aktion Airport (served mostly during summer from the rest of the EU). Looks nice, could be an easier option without having to travel hundreds of kms.
If Greece (or other locations) don’t pan out. I can recommend Estonia! Good beer, cheaper for most western EU peeps (my standards are based on the Scandinavians). I am also somewhat educated in guide topics and know the best food places!
