Crusader Kings II/Europa Universalis IV

Hello my golden owls!
Steam is giving away for free a grand strategy game called Crusader Kings II. I myself haven’t played it yet because I have my Europa Universalis IV which is newer, bigger and I think better, plus I have a bunch of those bloody DLCs for Europa.

But back in the day no one really wanted to play Europa Universalis because not many people had this game. Now we get similar game for free! The question is:

 1. Do we get together and try out the Crusader Kings II?
 2. Is there someone with a bunch of DLCs that could host the game(if it works the same as in Europa, if the host has DLCs every player in the game can use them)
 3. Do we all unanimously think "screw the free stuff, let’s play Europa Universalis"(I could host, I am only missing one nice DLC[rights of man])

free games! I’m down to have a nice game with everyone

Link for the lazy: Crusader Kings II on Steam

Free and yours to keep forever. Offer runs out on Monday, i believe.

I do like CK2 a lot, I think it would be fun to play together. Race to the most inbred royal family!

I’ll play this with people once I:"m back from my trip!

I play this stuff! INVITE ME. I have to much time the next in april and may <3

I have both games plus all CK2 DLCs and most of EU4’s DLCs. They are both great games but personally, I prefer CK2 because of the personal feel of each faction / dynasty. It’s also a ton of fun to play a royal philanderer trying to bed other players’ spouses and infect them with syphilis.

Well… I guess it’s time to start thinking about setting this thing up huh? When, how long, what rules? I guess Clarke can host since he has DLCs. And I am a noob at this game so maybe someone else can think of rules  I played it a bit, got a grasp of it but… I was hoping it’d be more like EUIV, turns out it’s more complicated…

My games so far:
Been playing all day, still can’t conquer Ireland…
Tried playing Léon, ended up becoming a right-wing extremist that also hates christian Spaniards…

We should get a multiplayer game going

So guys… Any suggestions? I have uni at weekends(not every weekend tho’) so Saturday or Sunday may not be the best options, plus I think people like to have a weekend off. I’m fine with every day of the week but weekend(perhaps we would play like twice a week or more?).

As for countries I always prefered to play as small countries in EUIV and, as it turns out, in CK2 as well because you can just snowball as a big country, especially in multiplayer but if you get big as a minor country… That makes me proud of my pristine tactical skills. We could also play as one country but I think we might just get too focused on fucking eachother over then as in my singleplayer Scotland run I keep managing the inside drama rather than steal the land from others.

The big question is do we play against eachother, do we play together, or are we allowed to form alliances against eachother? I personally like the 3rd option. Friendship, betrayal, drama, life and death.

My best day during the week is Wednesday.

Mondays and Thursdays often CNTO meetings or testing events happen, Tuesdays and Fridays are op nights, Saturday I tend to go out and Sunday is reserved for friends and family.

It’s often fun to play as dukes within the same country (France or England for example) and then try to backstab each other for the crown.

Guys, time to make a decision so we can get this going.

When?(I’m fine with Clarke’s Wednesday)
Dukes within one country or few countries(actually might be cool to make England shatter into some small countries)?
-Big countries or small countries?
What time do we want to start our game(preferably evening for me)?
Free for all, friendly or freedom of alliances?

I still can’t hoin until after the 23rd
