As I see it the best and most fair way to do this is to go into your ingame video settings and actually follow the guidelines set by BI. Just adjust the lightning settings so you can see the tick but not the cross. After that leave it be as this should give you the sight intended at night.
In the end it’s not something we can force on people, but having it adjusted correctly will also give you the best experience in the long run.

I have to say it s quite a good idea It solves probably the monitor differences. I never had a reason to stick with the tick and cross setting, so became to ignore the presence of it. Will apply and try to use it.
