Coop - Strike at Karkand

  1. Where is the start point for us? Do we start inside vehicles already?
  2. Can we expect civilians to be actively hostile?
  3. IED threat?
  4. Minimum number of known locations to be destroyed for obj completion?
  5. AA threat?

My idea.

Elements priority (based on attendance)

  1. Plt (Lead, Medic, [Sergeant to coordinate Dagger + Nightbird])
  2. Alpha
  3. Dagger
  4. Mmg or Hmg
  5. Nightbird
  6. Additional infantry squads
  7. Mortars
  8. Dmt

Vehicle designation

  1. Plt + Mmg/Hmg -> AAVP-7A1
  2. Each infantry Squad -> AAVP-7A1
  3. Dagger -> LAV-25
  4. Nightbird -> UH1Y

General plan

  • Nightbird will provide aerial support when needed, scouting objs. ahead, deal with resupply and vehicle-less reinsertions.
  • If numbers allow, infantry takes their vehicle during assault in a soft-dismounted fashion, otherwise we leave the armoured fun to Dagger

  1. Getting thereGetting there: ground elements reach BH PARTY and provide security

  2. Objective Alpha:
    2a. Infantry elements get in position on Hill 41
    2b. Dagger takes left flank, West of Hill 41
    2c. Infantry elements bound towards obj. Alpha proceeding North. Alpha Squad holds left flank, remaining infantry will hold right flank
    2d. Dagger proceeds alongside infantry, providing security West (open fields + big road)
    2e. While infantry assaults obj. Dagger holds to its immediate West and provide security

  1. Platoon regroups at obj Alpha, infantry vehicles are brought in if needed

  2. Objective Bravo:
    3a. Ground elements cross the river at cross Turtle
    3b. Attack from the North side, with Dagger on the right flank

  1. Objective Charlie:
    4a. Infantry will assault from Hill 40 along the ridge
    4b. Dagger takes down enforced enemy positions from DAGGER OW

5 Objective Delta: TBD

You start ~5 mins from the westernmost shore. That’s a ~30 minute drive to ~BH party, which isn’t really too fun. I recommend landing on the western shore. The waters to the south are mined so you can’t go through there.

I also recommend MAT over MMG.
The order IMO would go:
DAGR > MAT > NIGHTBIRD > ANYTHING ELSE.

Q’s:

  1. The start point is peninsula a kilometer to the west of the island.
  2. Civilians are hiding.
  3. No, this is a professional army.
  4. Capture the island. Search the whole thing.
  5. Yes, ZEUS/Shilka type stuff.

Since we’re coming from the other side and we kinda have to clear the whole island, I just set up different phases for the assault. Leaving the fort at the end to attack it from the best position possible, while keeping away from its fire for as long as possible.

Agreed on order of priority for elements. Nightbird is free to try and scout for AA position that PLT will designate as priority to get air support ASAP.

There are three main towns to clear, with Campolongo being the biggest one. Again, if we get enough players we do soft dismounts for infantry squads vehicles, otherwise infantry will leave vehicles just outside of those towns.
