Nope good old standard
Did you like the assets provided? (Vehicles)
Yep, THNDR missions are always fun
Did combined arms improve the gameplay or detract from it?
It deffinitely improoved
Did you like the enemy and its attack intensity?
Very much it was intense but very doable
What about enemies composition (enough of a mix between tanks, infantry, IFVs, APC)?
Good mix, choppers, tanks and fireteams+solo soldiers
How was the AI?
As is always
How was the overall pacing for you? Were there alot of boring lulls?
Very fast at first, started to slow down, but the build-up was good
Was the OPORD descriptive enough or would you have expected something more in there?
Didn’t really know we were going to search for another helicopter crash but might have been just me an idiot as always
How did you like the mission idea overall?
Good old standard mission good for a first time too!
What do you think made the mission good or bad experience for you?
The fast paced fights, with enemies south, then west, then SE and so on. Getting attacked from everywhere makes you panic
I don’t think we need 117’s, a bunch of fast trucks or humvee’s for this kind of mission is in my opinion enough!
I liked to have a tank at my side … but the map was really not this good, with the fog and forest i don’t think a tank was the best option!
I liked the Bunker and the main-objective ( a lot of stuff standing around), nice immersion!
YES
Good amount of enemy’s, never felt save but also had no clue where these guys are coming from (on map no info of enemy positions, outpost’s)
O.K
Liked it … not to hard not to easy … just spotting them in the forest when they see true stuff is sometimes hard!
Thanks to Dachi’s Magnet-Helmet i was able to play SL and lead 3-4 elements! I like to have more than one asset, so you have more tactical possibility’s but i felt like the map wasn’t very allowing it!
… Can’t remember
It’s a cool looking map with all the fog very intense, but i’m not a big fan since all looks the same (especially in fog), would like this map for a nightmission!!!
Yes … but hard from a personal standpoint.
i liked the artillery and that all of the sudden we had a new objective and some stress (15mins), but MM pay attention not to talk about this before the start of the mission… takes away the surprise effect!
I never died… hat a lot of shooting and stress leading so i was not one single second bored! I like that. But in all this Action sometimes things tend to get stressing and we loose a little bit our training, but that’s not Mission problem but personal. It was a really funny mission!
Keep up to build surprises and immersion with very small stuff ! ! ! Gives tension to the mission without chaos!
Mission was overall good and I had fun. Good first mission. I however have few things to point out.
Loadouts were standards thus ok. Camo was wrong but I’ll write that down to inexperience in incorporationg it. Forest camo would be usually ok even during winter but since this map is really all white then it makes very little sense.
Overall choice of assets wasok but did not understand what the M117 were there for. Tank was fun but forest, uneven terrain and fog are negative multipliers for tanks so I do not know how much fun tank crew had.
Due to terrain I barely noticed the combined arms effect.
Enemy was fun.
AI was ok. It did have some superhuman vision at times. Seeing trough the trees when we couldn’t but that is to be expected.
Pacing worked.
OPORD was a problem.
Writing those takes some practice. Even with the barebones basic version we use. The mission statement was my main issue. Stuff that should’ve been under situation section was under mission section.
Mission statement needs to be short concise order. Ideally 1-2 sentences that answer the following questions - who, what, when, where, why, and how. It designates the success condition of the mission. Rest of the issues were minor and not that important considering we are not a milsim group.
Thirsk is a fun map. Makes for alot of interesting engagements.
Mission idea good overall. Army crushing rebels works fine.
Experience was fun because of the good teamwork and fun mission.
