After the extended droughts in 2017 led to worldwide famines, Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) invaded South America in late summer 2017/2018.
The plan to seize the whole continent and make it into a colony to feed their people back in Asia.

SCO had successfully captured Ecuador and Peru by April 2018 and they are currently concentrating their efforts on taking Colombia and Brazil.

NATO decided to support the Union of South American Nations (USAN) in the defense.
In addition to ongoing weapons shipments, NATO recently deployed air force assets to Brazil to protect the airspace and help with airlift logistics.

Meanwile, the Colombian National Army (CNA) was able to stop the SCO at Lingor and is working on driving them off the island again.

Area of Operations:

Enemy Forces:

SCO

Prep:

  • Hummingbird, IFV, MRAPs
  • Send out Hummingbird out ASAP for air recon.
  • Load a boat into MRAPS as backup.
  • Load 1 small box into MRAPS

Phase 1 - Peninsula

  1. Get intel on Bronze from air recon.
  2. If clear pass it. If not assault.
  3. Armour set up on OP Xray
  4. Intel from air recon if bridge is crossable.

Phase 2 - Crossing

  1. If bridge is crossable infantry crosses the bridges and assaults Iron while armor covers.
  2. If bridge isn’t cross-able cross the river with a boat and assault Iron while armor covers.
  3. After Iron infantry sets up on hill 49.
  4. Armour moves on OP Yankee

Phase 3 - Towns

  1. Infantry assaults Gold, armor covers.
  2. Hummingbird drops large ammo box into Gold and marks it.
  3. Armor re-positions to Audi if necessary.
  4. Infantry assaults Silver.

Phase 4 - Defense

  1. Concentrate forces on Audi.
  2. Block BMW if possible.
  3. Build up defenses and go boom-boom.

Seems a good plan, although I suggest we divide the city into quadrants already in order to speed up communications and improve understanding of orders, last time it worked neatly.

My only issue is that OP Yankee is quite exposed to the South, and I would expect ei in the buildings around there. It may be more useful to have the IFV provide close support, covered by and covering the infantry. This way, when infantry hit enemy hard points the gun can be used right away, even to the point of firing almost point blank through windows, but that will require close co-operation between Dagger and any squads. We often now use armour as long-distance cover, but with Nightbird we should have early warning of enemy movement, and so we should use it for its other role, which should take some of the CQB pressure off the infantry.

Platoon level plan. SL can do whatever he feels is neccesary.

You do have a point. I have considered the risk from south and consider it acceptable. Main reasons for this positioning are ability to consistently fire at the town from 2 different angles and setting up IFV for maximum effectiveness. IFV can be used to its maximum extent (good firing arc, decent range, some cover). I expect for air recon forewarning to be able to somewhat manage this risk. This is not an ideal solution but since we are consistently unable to field 2 full squads plus some specialist teams this is how we can maximise the effectiveness of what we can field. By taking some measured risks.

Putting IFV into CQB doesn’t take pressure off infantry but adds to it. Armor is allergic to urban areas. Infantry now has to actively protect IFV. IFV has to maneuver in tight area trying to find areas of vision. More organisation, more risk, less shooty-bang-bang. IFV should have vision to suppress anyway from the OP and infantry has suppression weapons. Air recon should be able to spot any incoming enemy units.
