National-backed separatists in the Lybor, have taken over the region in an attempt to overthrow the current government. After months of bloody fighting, NATO has decided to move into the area to reduce the bloodshed.
Over the last few days, US army forces have captured the area south of River. However, separatists trapped south of the river have formed a strong insurgency.
Operating out of Airbase Icarus the 38th Rescue Squadron has been tasked with support and CSAR in the region.
OPORD
I Situation
An F18 has been shot down over our AO and PEDRO-41 has been tasked with rescuing the pilot. Perform CSAR - Combat search and rescue.

Commander’s Intent
- Find the crash site.
- Rescue the Pilot
- Bring Pilot back to FOB Icarus
Helicopters should be used as a force multiplier and close air support.
Movement Plan
- Use helicopters for rapid infill and exfil.
- Helicopters are high-priority targets (don’t spend too much time on the ground).
- The longer time our troops spend on the ground the longer the enemy will have time to muster troops.
- All landings should use the “show and go” method if possible
- Fly low, avoid flying over hills, and use valleys for cover.

Optional Tasks
- Pedo 41- standby for medical emergencies and CSAR missions.
IV Administration / Logistics
Resupplying
- Return to base at any time for RRR (Repair, Rearm, Refuel)
- At the airbase, should be airlifted into the field if necessary.
Reinforcements
- Reinsertions will be on the hour every hour and be adhered to strictly, no deviation is allowed.
- Reinsertions are the same for all, including vehicle teams.
- The Platoon Commander has a one-time reinsertion wild card at his disposal, call this in through HQ.
- At predesignated times, reinforcements will be sent out of the base in the smallest transport vehicle that can hold reinforcements.
- At predesignated times, an air transport will be sent out to pick up reinforcements from the base.
- At predesignated times, an armed escort vehicle will be sent out to escort reinforcements from the base.
- Upon insertion to the AO, reinforcements should stick together until regrouping with the main force in the AO.
