I’m going to summarize what I said during debriefing hoping things are going to get better the next time.
- Coordination over Platoon Net was bad, like really bad. I understand when there are few elements and they stick close one another it may not feel as impelling to report things over long range but it is essential for PLT to keep situational awareness and thus taking decisions. When we do bounding (be it at squad level or platoon level) the bounding elements must be autonomous and coordinate with each other, calling when one is set etc.
- I’m going to stress this yet again: for the love of God READBACK or confirm orders you receive. If you don’t, higher ups don’t know whether you received a message or you’re uncon, and it kills all the speed in coordinating elements for a manoeuvre. If you don’t remember how radio comms are handled, go through TTP3 and our appendix. If you want to change the radio etiquette because you don’t like open a Brainstorming thread instead of just doing the hell you want.
- Contact reports are slow and inaccurate. I had to ask both elements repeatedly for contact reports when they were clearly engagement, this goes the same as the previous point: no information results in poor coordination which, in turn, leads to poor decisions on the PLT level. Also, don’t just say "we’re shooting some baddies" over long range because that’s absolutely useless and gives PLT no information whatsoever. I understand Squad Leaders can be especially busy, in which case just announce the squad is engaging contacts and to stand by for contact report, it’s also a good way to know SL is not uncon. If PLT isn’t aware of where the enemy is and what kind of threat they pose to you, it’s also unlikely it will be able to support your fire.
- If you don’t like taking orders step the hell down from a leading role. This happens from time to time but yesterday MMG (cc 8030574 ) just wandered off in the middle of an open terrain when being instructed to hold position and defend a sector. Also MMG decided that Alpha was resupplied enough to start resupplying after being precisely instructed to wait for the go signal to resupply. It is a different thing to take advantage of a better position than what originally planned, in which case you inform PLT and I have rarely said no to update plans. I will say it again: if you don’t like taking orders step down or next time I’m going to relieve you from command and assign it to someone else, it’s about time we either learn how to lead elements or let someone else do it.
- Stop fucking around when it’s time to be serious. There’s a time for banter and a time to be focused on what you’re doing. We’re not playing Call of Duty or Battlefield and your actions can single-handedly make someone experience worse.
Feedback on PLT level is I could’ve decided to stick to the original plan and break the defensive line in the middle instead of going all the way around it and take the risk of going through occupied villages. I wasn’t really aware of the enemy presence beyond what we saw so I didn’t want to risk being under fire from three different directions (East, West and North) without much of a cover.
Thanks for the mission, surprised we managed to rescue the HVT alive.
I liked the mission! Also, the plan was tactically sound, we didn’t fight entire enemy armada at once, rather piecemeal engagement. I’d like to thank my Squad Leader 3749902 and my ever patient Fireteam Leader 17948690 for being so awesome.
Shiny, really cool mission. Keep it up!
I don’t know which situation you’re talking about, with the wandering off, please clarify.
I sped up the downtime, by grabbing our supplies quickly, after half of alpha had resupplied and returned to the position we were covering together.
I might’ve done some things wrong, don’t think any of it was worth getting this emotional about, and I certainly was not fucking around at any point.
Do you think I’m retarded, is that why you’re repeating things in text? I take it as disrespect.
and don’t worry, knowing now how hard it is for you, I won’t be leading as much anymore, if you are.
oh, and I’m very sorry if you’ve been hurt by me fucking with you on the radio a little, It was never meant seriously.
I’ve just found it funny because how, by the book you are.

That wasn’t the position I told you to hold.
I wrote this and reported in debrief multiple times. Just because you think something is right it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re right or cleared to do so when, again, specifically being told to hold your position until I say you can move.
If it once happens that we get a mass casualty situation because someone is leaving their sector I’ll blame it on this kind of behaviour.
3602631 reported your vehicle (the only one in a 4-vehicle convoy) was the only one hitting the civilian between DISMOUNT C and D and it was on purpose. You weren’t there for debriefing where this was discussed.
I am honestly sick and tired of us pretending to be both casual and semi-serious. We have rules and SOP, don’t like it not my problem. I repeat things to stress out issues we’ve been having for at least 12 months since I rejoined.
The wall of text I wrote isn’t specifically directed at you Hateboarder, it’s not like I hate you of something. We just enjoy Arma in different ways and it’s quite obvious. Same shit happened with MMG last Friday and it was equally as annoying as last Tuesday.
One does not hate Hateboarder. Hateboarder hates one.
