The world has changed. In 2021, China’s economy crashed and the Western markets followed. Millions found themselves without the basics they had lived with for years. Austerity ran rampant. In 2023, Oil wells in the Middle East and the US ran dry. Within six months, every nation in the world was in a desperate struggle to hold onto anything they could get their hands on. High tensions and economic instability forced the UK back into the fold of the EU, which was now vying to become a federal superpower on par with Russia and the US. In 2026, China was forced to launch an unprecedented and desperate invasion on Russian soil, in an attempt to grab what little reserves remained to quell the uprisings happening internally. The Russians, surprised and without much mechanized help, were pushed back quickly and effectively by the Chinese. Within 4 months, Russian Leaders were in conference rooms in Brussels, brokering an alliance that would help their country survive. The EU agreed knowing that Russia could be used as a barrier country for their own defense, at the cost of souring relations with the US. It’s been three years since that deal was made and the US and the re-branded European Federation have been fighting proxy wars across the globe to secure any and all remaining resources. Two months ago, a survey team on the Isle of Panthera discovered a huge well of oil far below the surface and every major power has their eyes firmly set upon it.

OPORD

I Situation:

Ribno is liberated and the 23rd Airborne have broken out of their encirclement. DAGUET is our new FOB and we will use it as a base from which to hold the line here on the East side of the Island. Currently allied forces hold the line but are stretched very thin and require resupply and reinforcement at Objective CRUMPET

Friendly Forces:

[] 23rd Airborne Division
[
] CNTO Support Company

Assets:

[] 2 x Strider (4 seats)
[
] 1 x Zamak Medical (16 seats)
[] 1 x Zamak Ammo (3 seats)
[
] 3 x Zamak Truck (16 seats)

Enemy Forces:

[] USMC
[
] USMC Recon

Civilians:

Almost all civilians have been evacuated from the area.

II Mission:

With the 23rd Airborne saved and the capture of Objective DAGUET, the EDF pushed further only to find that the Americans have reinforced the main island and were much more prepared than expected. As such, with the arrival of the US Atlantic fleet, the war is at a deadlock. Extreme winter weather has hampered any air or sea operations so we wait for it to pass. The Date is now 20th Feb 2031 and the snows are now gone.

III Execution:

Commander’s intent

[] Task Force Sabre will bring two large supply boxes to Outpost CRUMPET from FOB DAGUET.
[
] Once at CRUMPET Sabre will reinforce the outpost and await further orders.

Movement Plan

Insertion will be via ground vehicles and reinsertion will be via ground or air, depending on circumstances.

Fire Support

No fire support is available.

IV Administration / Logistics:

Resupplying

[] Task Force Sabre will bring supplies with the initial insertion and should manage those supplies so that they are adequate for the whole operation.
[
] Emergency resupply will be conducted via ammo drop by air or supply box by ground.

Reinforcements:

[] At predesignated times, an air transport or ground convoy will be sent out with reinforcements from FOB TEAPOT.
[
] Upon insertion to the AO, reinforcements should stick together until regrouping with the main force in the AO.

Area of Operations:

Probably not a very complicated mission for planning but players could consider the geography of the area around Crumpet and how it might be best defended.

So just to clarify: Move two boxes from DAGUET to CRUMPET and then defend CRUMPET from a possible attack. What happens if the boxes get destroyed because the vehicle gets destroyed? Are there more than two boxes at base?

Also since the whole operation exsists behind ‘our’ side of the border does this mean there will be friendly forces around the area/at CRUMPET? Should we assume the enemy might be patroling the forests or roads on our side of the border?

Thanks!

Hey so here is what I was thinking.

Route in very simple avoiding getting close to the front lines as much as possible. Light blue line is the route in to outpost CRUMPET. Vehicles should be parked in the ALAMO compound to be used if we can escape or are ordered to fall back.

Composition of the convoy will be determined based on numbers on the night of operation.

Once we are in location this would be my general plan to defend looking at the terrain.

As you can see this is the plan with a full platoon where we break down into squads defending 3 key areas.

ALPHA: Defends our SW from hard cover in 2 of the multi storey buildings, from these building they will have good line of sight to the South and to the West. From the Eastern building they could also cover the north and any possible retreat of Charlie Squad. Alpha’s area is marked by the blue circle and their arcs have been marked with blue arrows coming from the 2 multi storey buildings.

BRAVO: Defends the Hill at .39 our Eastern Flank, from hear they have defilade to their North and have have clear lines of sight to the South East, South and South West, main advantages of this position are that they can mutually support Alpha with any enemy attack from the South. Bravo also has good eyes on the road just to there South running East to West which is a possible route of attacks for enemy vehicles. Position circle in pink with arcs shown by pink arrows.

CHARLIE: Defends our Northern Flank from hill .43, from this position Charlie can cut off any enemy northern flank from Stodor with clear lines of sight into the towns and road to the North West. They can also mutually support Alpha in any possible attacks from the South West. Area marked with a yellow circle and arcs marked with yellow arrows.

ALAMO: This is the compound marked on the map with green crosses and labelled ALAMO. This will act as our joint last ditch defence if we get pushed back from our defence locations. The fallback routes are marked with lines in each squad colour blue, pink and yellow. Charlie has many building in which to retreat through and should make every attempt to slow enemies down one building at a time. Bravo has defilade to move through so any retreat by Bravo will be straight back to the ALAMO position they should therefore be the first ones to reach the ALAMO and should be tasked with the set up of security. Alpha with there hardened position very close to the ALAMO should move last and aim to cover both Bravo’s and Charlies retreat to the ALAMO as best they. Once both squads are at the ALAMO then Alpha can move to the ALAMO if required to if they can hold then they should stay in position same goes for Charlie as they retreat through building to the South no ground should be given up lightly with the enemy suffering heavy casualties.

Anyway it is a pretty simple plan and it can also be adapted i.e if we don’t have the numbers for 3 Squads. For example if we had 2 Squads we can keep Alpha as is and split Bravo to cover both hills or have one FT of each squad in one building and the other FT defending a hill each so Alpha can take the building watching South and hill .39 so they are purely covering South and Bravo split and do the same of the West.

Squads could also be replaced by support teams if numbers are much lower, it just needs to be taken into consideration that there lower numbers etc mean they will most likely prove to provide much lighter resistance for the enemy and fallbacks may occur much quicker than if at full platoon strength.

Regards,
Dachi

The boxes are your own supplies and if they get destroyed then you will probably be low on supplies during the mission. Although in an emergency HQ will try and resupply you.

Friendly forces are guarding the border, but there are not many of them. Enemy forces are on the other side of the border.

Yes there are lots of fortifications but they are not complete and leave some gaps. The small team in the area at the moment will give you a quick description of what they have been up to in defending the area.
