The world has changed. In 2021, China’s economy crashed and the Western markets followed. Millions found themselves without the basics they had lived with for years. Austerity ran rampant. In 2023, Oil wells in the Middle East and the US ran dry. Within six months, every nation in the world was in a desperate struggle to hold onto anything they could get their hands on. High tensions and economic instability forced the UK back into the fold of the EU, which was now vying to become a federal superpower on par with Russia and the US. In 2026, China was forced to launch an unprecedented and desperate invasion on Russian soil, in an attempt to grab what little reserves remained to quell the uprisings happening internally. The Russians, surprised and without much mechanized help, were pushed back quickly and effectively by the Chinese. Within 4 months, Russian Leaders were in conference rooms in Brussels, brokering an alliance that would help their country survive. The EU agreed knowing that Russia could be used as a barrier country for their own defense, at the cost of souring relations with the US. It’s been three years since that deal was made and the US and the re-branded European Federation have been fighting proxy wars across the globe to secure any and all remaining resources. Two months ago, a survey team on the Isle of Panthera discovered a huge well of oil far below the surface and every major power has their eyes firmly set upon it.

OPORD

I Situation:

The documentation that "NOCTEM" retrieved have confirmed our intelligence on the oil supplies on Panthera. Whilst our torch and burn op has given us plausible deniability, there is no doubt that the US are preparing for a long term, full scale war should we attempt to stake our own claim. As such, the European Federation has deployed various European regiments to a nearby settlement. Task Force Sabre are among those. Tomorrow morning, December 19th, at 1000, European Forces will deploy to Panthera. Our intelligence operatives report that US preparations are still in the early stages. This will be a swift and decisive victory.

II Mission:

Task Force Sabre will deploy to Panthera in an amphibious assault to take the island of RUBINA and establish a forward operating base where European Federation Forces can launch future operations and fly in oil drilling equipment. At the same time the French 23rd Airborne Brigade will launch an airborne assault on the airport of Lesce objective “DAGUET”. The British 3rd Division and German 1st Panzer Division are taking the northern sector of Panthera via a large scale amphibious assault, a joint divisional force(JDF) of Polish, Italian and Scandinavian elements are taking the island of DIEGO.

TFN will land via Assault Boat at landing zone “OWL” from there they will clear the RUBINA Islands moving south.

III Execution:

Commander’s intent

[] Task Force Sabre secures landing zone "OWL" in order to progress in land and take objectives "SHARK", "LION", "LYNX", "WOLF" and "HAWK". This will secure the Northern Rubina island to facilitate the setup of FOB Joker and allow us to perform future operations in the AO.
[
] At 1000 on the 19th of December Task Force Sabre will leave the HMS Prince of Wales in landing craft in order to land and secure objective "OWL".
[] On securing the landing zone the task force will move to take objective "SHARK".
[
] On clearing the enemy from objective "SHARK" the task force will move to take both objectives "LYNX" and "WOLF" in which ever order the commander on the grounds chooses.
[] On clearing the enemy from "LYNX" and "WOLF" the task force is to secure objective "HAWK".
[
] The task force is to move no further than the 1st Limit of Exploatation (LOE) and are to secure the island from counter attack.

Once at the 1st LOE the task force will wait for further orders. The whole operation will rely on speed and momentum to prevent effective enemy counter attacks.

Movement Plan

Insertion will be via landing boats and reinsertion will be via Helo.

Fire Support

[] CAS in on station callsign "PALADIN".
[
] Helicopter CAS is also on station callsign "REAPER".

IV Administration / Logistics:

Resupplying

HMS Prince of Wales will be main point of resupply for all elements. Resupply will be conducted via ammo drops.

Reinforcements:

[] At predesignated times, an air transport will be sent out with reinforcements from the carrier.
[
] Upon insertion to the AO, reinforcements should stick together until regrouping with the main force in the AO.

Area of Operations:

Transports:

  • F-720 Mora –> 7 passengers
  • WY-Hellcat –> 6 passengers + 1 copilot
  • CH-49 Mohawk –> 14 passengers + 1 copilot

General tactics:

  • Use Paladin as fire support before moving on each objective
  • Keep F-720 Moras away from action on OW positions to provide accurate fire support
  • Elements closer to possible counter-attack route have to keep an eye out for enemy activity
  • DMT used as recon element to mark target on next objective, no mission for assault on LZ OWL
  • During mission, Platoon moves at the rear of the formation of the fixing element
  • No intel on AA –> Planes fly high, Helos fly low

Asset flexibility:

  • If only 1 pilot, same plan except for movement towards OBJ HAWK –> 1 Squad + 1 FT in CH-49 Mohawk, 6 remaining members of second Squad in F-720 Mora or 2 Helos runs if 1 vehicle available
  • If only 1 vehicle crew, F-720 Mora always used as fixing element
  • If only 1 squad, F-720 Mora fixes while Squad flanks

Execution Plan:

  1. Paladin executes bombing runs on the beach, focus on LZ FOX

2a. Dagger stops 1km from the beach & suppress entrenched positions on the beach
2b. Infantry deploys quickly on the beach –> 2 Squads side by side

  1. Infantry secures LZ FOX, pushing on the West as fast as possible

  2. Dagger lands

  3. OBJ LION (airfield)
    a. Fixing element (1 Squad & Dagger) on OW set to provide fire support on as many buildings & hangars as possible
    b. PLT maintains awareness to the East to watch from possible flank by QRF
    b. Assaulting element (1 Squad) moves facing as few buildings as possible

  4. Probable resupply/reinsert at –> Hold OBJ LION

  5. OBJ SHARK
    a. CAS request on OBJ SHARK, Ingress West / Egress East
    b. Dagger takes OW West of OBJ SHARK to provide fire support
    c. Squads progress in line towards OBJ SHARK
    d. If QRF en route from OBJ WOLF or if only 1 Squad, push to objective on Northern side
d*.If no QRF & 2 Squads, maneuver with fixing element on Northern side & flanking element on South-Western side

  6. OBJ WOLF
    a. CAS request on OBJ WOLF, Ingress North-West / Egress South-East
    b. 1 Squad fixes OBJ WOLF from the North with Dagger Mora on OW
    c. 1 Squad flanks OBJ WOLF from the West

  7. Probable resupply/reinsert at OBJ WOLF

  8. OBJ LNX
    a. CAS request on OBJ LYNX, Ingress East / Egress West
    b. 1 Squad fixes OBJ LYNX from North-East with Dagger on OW
    c. 1 Squad flanks OBJ LYNX from East

  9. Probable resupply/reinsert at OBJ LYNX or reinsert wildcard –> Hold OBJ Lynx & request 2*CH-49 Mohawks

  10. Each Squad embarks in a CH-49 Mohawk to close in on OBJ HAWK, PLT embarks in Dagger & finds OW positions to secure an LZ

  11. OBJ HAWK
    a. Squads move in line towards OBJ HAWK
    b. Dagger on OW positions setting fixes OBJ HAWK

  12. Secure OBJ HAWK & hold with Dagger on OW

OBJECTIVE SHARK:

  • TWO TANKS WAIT AT OWL
  • ONE TEAM OVERWATCH HILL 56
  • ONE TEAM CLEAR TOWN, ONE TANK, PROVITE OVERWATCH EAST OVER WOLF
  • ONCE OBJECTIVE SHARK IS CLEAR, MOVE WEST TO LION

OBJECTIVE LION:

  • CAS DOES PREEMPTIVE AIRSTRIKE ON VATRA
  • CAS DOES PREEMPTIVE AIRSTRIKE ON AIRPORT
  • ONE TEAM MOVES ON NORTH SIDE OF TOWN
  • ONE TEAM MOVES THROUGH SOUTH SIDE OF TOWN
  • CLEAR HALF OF THE BUILDINGS
  • TANKS WAIT NEAR HARBOR TILL HALF OF BUILDINGS ARE CLEARED
  • ONCE HALF THE BUILDINGS ARE CLEARED TANKS USE THOSE AS COVER TO PROVIDE
    ASSISSTENCE AND MOVE TOWARDS AIRPORT
  • BOTH TEAMS CONTINUE TO CLEAR OTHER HALF WITH HELP OF TANKS
  • ONCE AIRPORT IS SECURE, ALL TEAMS MOVE (MAYBE AS CONVOY) TO OBJECTIVE LYNX

OBJECTIVE LYNX:

  • TANKS STAY IN COVER
  • BOTH TEAMS ATTACK TOWN STARTING FROM HILL 52 AND DEFEND

OBJECTIVE WOLF:

  • CAS DOES AIRSTRIKE AT WOLF
  • TEAMS MOVE IN FROM HILL 80, TAKE OVER FIRST BUILDINGS
  • USE TANKS AFTER FIRST BUILDINGS ARE CLEARED
  • USE FIRST BUILDINGS AS COVER, TAKE OVER REST OF TOWN

OBJECTIVE HAWK:

  • MOVE PAST HILL 160
  • IF POSSIBLE, CAS ATTACK ON HAWK
  • MOVE TO HILL 78
  • USE ALL UNITS FOR AGGRESIVE STRIKE ON HAWK

I fear if we use LZ OWL we could be pinched between QRFs from OBJ SHARK/WOLF & OBJ LION.
Using CAS on the airfield my end badly if they have AA defenses on it.
I updated my proposition to include OBJ LION using LZ FOX to land. Unfortunately, I’m at work & can’t make a nice drawing on the map like you Racoon.
