The region of Sa’hatra has been going through a brutal conflict between the local government and various extremists groups which banded together as the Brothers of Sacred Swords. Famous for their brutality, as they lay down their rule of law through terror, they are feared amongst the locals.
After the national army suffered massive losses alongside evidence of war crimes was found, foreign allies of the local decided to step in and provide direct military assistance.
OPORD
I Situation
The US armed forces have been deployed to the region of Sa’hatra to provide military assistance, mainly through providing security in the region. There have been recent reports of increased activity, as local villagers have reported Brothers of Sacred Swords activity. These reports have started to appear closer and closer to our FOB, indicating that they may be preparing for some sort of hostile action against us.
Friendly Forces
- US Army
- Platoon, Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, ENG, MMT, MMG, DMT
- The National Army is on our side and also present in the FOB. Officially, the National Police is also on our side, but reports indicate their allegiance cannot be trusted.
Assets
- 3x M1240A1(O-GPK/M240 or M2 or Mk19) - 5 seats: 1x driver, 1x gunner, 3x passenger.
- 1x M1245 (CROWS/M2) - 7 seats: 1x driver, 1x gunner, 5x passenger.
- 4x MRZR 4 - 6 seats: 1x driver, 5x passenger.
- 4x M1043A2 (Unarmed) - 4 seats: 1x driver, 3x passenger.
Enemy Forces
- Brothers of Sacred Swords - local extremist insurgents and turncoats.
- Armed with captured equipment of the national army and also potentially ours.
Civilians
- There are civilians in the area.
- Civilians are fearful of the insurgents due to their brutal killings and other punishments handed out for anything that seems like they co-operated with national forces.
II Mission
There have been increased reports of hostile activity in the settlements near the FOB. Reports from locals indicate that they seem to have been snooping around local villages and the local police of a larger town nearby says they have spotted hostile vehicles.
To ensure the safety of the FOB, a patrol through the local settlements has been planned.
III Execution
Commander’s Intent
- Platoon is to patrol through the local settlements/area for any enemy activity.
- The most recent reports originate from the villages to the east, but the order of movement for the patrol is for platoon to decide.
- Once the settlements in the region have been patrolled through, the unit is to RTB to the FOB.
Movement Plan
- Some areas in the region may be tough to pass via vehicles or have other dangers.
- There are various vehicles available at the FOB with different benefits.
- Risk of IEDs and old minefields does exist. Any known areas are marked.
Fire Support
- Due to the lack of resources, fire support is not currently available.
Optional Tasks
- There are humanitarian supplies designated for a civilian pickup point.
IV Administration / Logistics
- Any surrendered or captured hostiles are to be taken back to the FOB for questioning and prosecution.
Resupplying
- Resupply available at the FOB.
Reinforcements
- Reinsertions will be on the hour every hour and be adhered to strictly, no deviation is allowed.
- Reinsertions are the same for all, including vehicles teams.
- Platoon Commander has a two time reinsertion wild card at their disposal, call this in through HQ.
- At predesignated times, reinforcements will be sent out of the base in the smallest transport vehicle which can hold reinforcements.
- Upon insertion to the AO, reinforcements should stick together until regrouping with the main force in the AO.
