OPORD
I Situation:
The Russians are pushing west in an attempt to break Nato’s Eastern flank. We have to hold the line here and inflict heavy casualties on there force in order to slow there advance and allow the rest of the front to withdraw in good order. First Light is at 0600L.
Friendly Forces:

[] 1st Platoon, Task Force Noctem our platoon is to Ambush the enemy advance and inflict heavy losses on the enemy.
[] 2nd Platoon, Task Force Noctem located on our southern boundary, there Mission is to Block and Divert the enemy.
[] 3rd Platoon, Task Force Noctem located to our west, there Mission is to Guard Coy HQ and provide a tactical reserve.
[] 29th Light Infantry are North of our AO there mission is to Block and Divert the enemy.

Enemy Forces:

[] Mechanised and Armoured units very experienced
[] They will probe the front searching for a weak point, they will send light recce forces first and follow up with heavy armour and infantry. They have extensive use of long range artillery.

[*] Civilians in the local area have fled due to extensive shelling.

II Mission:
1st Platoon are to prepare and set up an AMBUSH within our AO before first light.
III Execution:
Commander’s intent

[] 1st are to move into the AO and prepare Ambush sites before first light.
[] 1st Platoon are then to man each Ambush site ensuring that enemy Armour does not pass them or has any alternative route around them within there AOR.
[] 1st Platoon should use civilian vehicles, static weapons, explosives and engineers to build well prepared Ambush sites and fire positions.
[] The Platoon commander and SL’s need to ensure all positions have good firing arcs and that the positions are able to withstand follow up infantry assaults and artillery bombardments. [/list][/indent]
Movement Plan

Fire Support

[*] Mortars Platoon can be tasked via the radio, call sign Delta 3-1, they have 4 x 81mm mortars on standby for fire missions. [/list][/indent]

IV Administration / Logistics:
Resupplying

[*] There are resupply boxed located at the Coy HQ and also boxes at the Platoon HQ[/list][/indent]
Reinforcements:

[] Reinsertions will be on the hour every hour and be adhered to strictly, no deviation is allowed.
[] Reinsertions are the same for all, including vehicles teams.
[] Platoon Commander has a one time reinsertion wild card at his disposal call this in through HQ.
[] At predesignated times, reinforcements will be sent out of the base in smallest transport vehicle which can hold reinforcements
