It’s been 10 years since the Chernarussian Movement of the Red Star has been driven off the country of Chernarus. We knew that there were still members of the ChDKZ left when they were driven out of the country. But we never knew they would gather forces this quick.
We found out through Abiz one of the captured recruited ChDKZ members that the ChDKZ has a base in the south of Chernarus. Unfortunately Abiz was killed before he could tell us where.
The citizens of Chernarus have called in our help to drive back the ChDKZ from Chernarus.

We established an FOB in Gorka.

OPORD

I Situation:

OPORD

I Situation:
We are called in to help the citizens of Chernarus.
Last mission we managed to have a talk to Abiz one of the people who were recruited by the ChDKZ.
He said they have a base somewhere near the southern coast of Chernarus.
Unfortunately he was killed before he could tell us exactly where.
With the intel we have command has marked 3 area’s for us to search for the base.
If we find it, we are to RTB and report it to command so they can draw a plan of attack.

We have an FOB in Gorka.

Friendly Forces:

Carpe Noctem Tactical Operations
[] Carpe Noctem Tactical Operations.
[
] Dagger

Nightbird.

Assets:

1 x AH-9 Pawnee
2 x UH-60 transport helicopter
4 x M1025A2 Humvee
2 x M1025A2 Humvee with M2
1 x M113 with M2

Enemy Forces:

ChDKZ.

Civilians:

Unknown

II Mission:

It’s the CNTO’s task to scout out Area 1, 2 and 3 for a hostile base.
If we find it, we are to clear the way to the area but not the area or the base itself.
If we draw too much attention the base might send scouting elements.
This mission is purely meant to clear the way for the actual assault.

Be very cautious, the ChDKZ might still have some Russian stolen equipment left and will be patrolling the area as we saw in the patrol last mission.

III Execution:

Commander’s intent

[] Find the base
[
] Clear the way to the area where the base is

Movement Plan

[] Move in a convoy to an overwatch position, preferably a place where you can scout out all 3 of the area’s.
[
] PLT can use HQ to request fire support.

Fire Support

Mortar Team if needed

Secondary Task

[] Make sure no civilians are harmed.
[
] Scout the base and mark on map if you find anything special.

IV Administration / Logistics:

Resupplying

Resupply will be conducted by attached transport helicopter unit.

Reinforcements:

[] At predesignated times, an air transport will be sent out to pick up reinforcements from the base
[
] Upon insertion to the AO, reinforcements should stick together until regrouping with the main force in the AO

• Where are we on the map?
 • If we are helping friendly citizen do we assume that there are friendly citizen in the area?
 • Can we get something more beefy than M113 for Dagger?
 • Does this FOB have the facilities to rearm and refuel helos and other vehicles?
 • How large of a supply of mortar rounds do we have?
 • Any chance of IEDS?
 • Can we use air recon to find the base?
 • Any chance of AA or enemy air units?
 • Can this base be reinforced from some direction?
 1. North West Airfield CNTO HQ (far above Zelenogorsk)
 2. We are assuming there are
 3. No
 4. FOB and main base both have rearm and refuel vehicles
 5. 12
 6. No intel, They used them before
 7. We can but we don’t know if there is AA anywhere or where the base is
 8. Already answered
 9. We don’t know but Chernogorsk is friendly.

 1. Divide force in 2 elements, Alpha and Bravo, equal sized.
 2. Board the helicopter and perform 2 fake landings at FK1, FK2, finally deploying Alpha and Bravo to ORP.
 3. On foot, Alpha takes route 169 - 154 - 121. Bravo takes route 206, splits and move their sub-elements towards 86 and 105.
 4. All the time Alpha recons Area 1 and 2. Bravo recons Area 2 and 3. They avoid roads, villages and open fields as much as possible.
 5. ROE - weapons tight. If possible, capture the enemy soldier and take back for interrogation. In case of contact - break and fall back.
 6. After recon, both elements regroup to ORP using alternative routes back. They hand in the map sketches to commander.
 7. Commander regroups elements in one combat patrol - split in 3 sub-elements - assault, support and security element.
 8. Commander decides on order of clearing avenue of approach towards 3 OBJ. He starts with weakest guarded area. As per OPORD, combat patrol doesn’t enter OBJ but leaves 2 man from security element in OP observing the OBJ.

IIRC the woodlands in this area are pretty dense, so it may mean that we have to get a bit closer, but the general plan matched what I was thinking.
Perhaps the first Bravo unit can proceed to 86 as it should be able to see both area 2 and 3 from there (if there’s activity on the airfield it should be pretty obvious) and Alpha can provide OW over areas 1 and 2 as they approach to investigate.

 1. Load units into unarmed humvees. 200m gap between each car (Out of the line of sight). If at any point any of the cars is engaged the unit will disengage and coordinate with other vehicles. Rest of the cars will circle around using a different route.
 2. Use pre-set route of small roads, log trails, offroad avoiding large civilised places.
 3. Use OP1 to scout out Steel and Bronze.
 4. If base is found mark visible opposition and RTB using green route.
 5. If the base isn’t found proceed to OP2. Mark visible opposition and RTB following the 00 paralel.
 6. On the way back. Use mortar fire and weapons on pawnee to blow up everything spotted besides the base.

Just a thought; the mission states we need to find the main base, but that may mean there is activity at each location and we need to establish which location in the main one. Even if we find the base with the first attempt I think we should still scout all three locations, just to be sure. It may be that we find various support assets at each base (artillery, AA, CAS, armour etc), which will give us more, and better, intel for the final assault.

I wasn’t around for the previous mission, what sort of enemy presence are we expecting? where did we have contacts, how many, any armour etc.

I was going to suggest dropping a recon humvee off by chopper on the N side of windy mountain while everyone else gets ready and moves out by road, but if we’re expecting an organised enemy with advanced scouts or forces in the villages around the mountain this wouldn’t be such a great idea.

Last mission started with general insurgents but there was at least one HAV. Should expect organised and well armed enemies that will react quickly and in force.

Since the mission statement is long and vague the assumption I made is that our goal is to locate the base and secure a route to it. My plan intends to do that exacly thus fulfilling those conditions.
