Coop: Dark Night, Dark Deeds

I’m glad you all enjoyed the atmosphere. It was the largest part of this missions creation time, nearly two hours getting it to the level that you guys saw. It was totally worth it for some of the reactions once you guys hit the checkpoints.

(A shame you missed investigating the abandoned car enroute.)

Loved the mission! Really enjoyed the spooky mysteriousness of it.

During the OP I noticed 2 things which didn’t seem right to me. First of vehicles blowing up and injuries. Twice this OP I was in a vehicle which blew up. First it was the boobytrapped truck, which gave me and everyone else inside the truck barely any wounds. (I even had 0). Those around the truck did get injured from this. The second vehicle that blew up caused me to be injured heavily as I was in the process of getting in there. My blood level marker went down completely to 0 blood (within seconds) and I stayed alive for a long time, while I should have been dead. Jash, who was already in the vehicle, got out uninjured (need to confirm this).

Second; I saw 2 cases of injured unconscious people loaded into the helicopter. I am 100% sure they were in as I had interacted with them while INSIDE the helicopter. Then somehow, without purposefully unloading them, it seemed like they got kicked out as other people who were not unconscious got in. We might have to look into this how this happened.

Also; feedback on medical: At one point I got shot with Jash instantly noticing me and bringing me to the medic. Got treated quickly but in a short window lost a lot of blood. I did not time how long I was down, but my estimate would be around 10 minutes. IMO the bleed rate still seems too high.

What was in the abandoned car?

Overall an amazing mission, one of the best I’ve played in my three years here. Great atmosphere, liked the slow pacing at the start. Once the action started I liked how you threw everything at us from multiple sides so we constantly had to keep a 360 and be aware of our surroundings. Bravo 1 did a great job and I’m really happy with their performance tonight. Voodoo, Aether, Sagu, Fishgrit, and Mother, thank you guys for a wonderful op. You did my job very easy.

At the start it was very hard to see anything. It was good for atmosphere, yes, but it made it a bit frustrating to coordinate your team in almost total darkness. NVG-s would not spoil the atmosphere that much and would help us a lot in that almost total darkness scenario.

I would have liked more background story from the initial OPORD. I understand HQ transmited a message to PLT to inform us on who are we fighting, but that kind of information can easily get overlooked in the heat of action, especially when you have to pass three levels to get the information down to the last grunt (HQ -> PLT -> SQL -> Squad). It would be better for that kind of information to be in the initial OPORD. If you don’t want to reveal it for atmosphere purposes, at least some hints would be appreciated. In this case it was peacefull one minute and the other we were fighting a fully equiped mystery army which was really offputting.

There was also one small instance of confusion at the end of Bravo when we landed to pick up Alpha with the heli. Since both PLT and the enemy were approaching from the same direction we were focused on getting Alpha out that we forgot PLT is still out there so they took some fire from us. Luckily nobody got hurt.

At the end, great mission from Skippy, great Bravo squad leading from Dachi and great Bravo 1 performance. Thank you everybody for showing up.

This is the bug we encountered. Basically we are safer in cars that explode then outside of it.

Nice mission ! One bit of feedback, AI can hardly see in the dark/semi dark and through fog. I alone killed 2 squads while they only fired 1 bullet back. Otherwise great atmosphere and mission. Loved the people around me and the teamplay.

Great number turn out too! Well done everyone and thanks for showing up. Such fun

One of the best experiences I’ve had in an op so far. Constantly just reacting to the next problem arising without any one problem actually being too much to handle. The darkness imo was perfect. We could see enough to identify enemies (even from friendlies, the fog was more a limiting factor), and while it was difficult, it also worked against them just as much.
Also the numbers really added to the op, even though interaction between Alpha and Bravo was limited, the presence of another full squad added a lot.

Vid I made of the op. I tried to keep the atmosphere of the op there, which is why it’s so long.
