I don’t think we should be going after what we found in the intel in this OP. By doing so we reveal that we cracked their code, which means any intel we find this OP wil be worthless since they will change their plans with the knowledge that we know their plans. Additionally, all future intel will undoubtedly have either a different key or a different code all together, meaning that cracking it will take hours at the least, if we even manage it in the first place. There’s a reason Britain only rarely acted on intel gained through the breaking of enigma.
Also, the dude might not even be there as we don’t know what date he would be there (and this intel was not expecte to be cracked so soon).

Here is my plan for the next 2 OPs.
I think we should drop 1 or 2 objectives since we only have 2 days left. Focus on the most important objectives and try and find high value targets and either capture or kill them to drop morale/have them surrender.
I vote to hit 3 objectives during the op on Friday and then on Tuesday we start with the hardest objective to really put a nail in the coffin.
We insert by air on the first objective and have NB scout out as much as possible and then move on foot to the other objective while NB inserts ground vehicles. If we have any stolen ones or find them along the way.
Then after objective 2 we move to objective 3 by air and clear that out.
Time of insertion 19.00
Elements deployed: Nightbird, Alpha, MAT. Falcon is optional.
I would argue that we do do number 1 first and stick with this objective line for a few simple reasons.
- If we do this quick and as quiet as possible we will stop them from sending out communications to HQ. Allowing us to disable the power station. We do not blow it up but rather disable the power. So none around notices. A quick in and disable mission.
- The power station will knock out all lights and communications allowing no counter attacks and confusion within the enemy ranks. Since there is quite a lot of space between objectives they would have trouble reaching each other and will send out units to investigate/report in by vehicle (helos have been destroyed so only ground vehicles are possible.)
- We set up for a counter attack in the power station. They will definitely send out a small group of engineers with almost no combat experience to fix the power station. We can capture them and bring them back to the base for interrogation/negotiation at a later stage. and it will keep them without power. Most lkely these troups will be send out from objective 2 as this is the HQ/com center.
- We continue with the other objectives. We have nightvision and we take advantage of the knocked out lights and communications. Hopefully most of the troups have already left fortifications or were send out to check in with other locations by HQ. Allowing small units to remain and us to take over objectives and the com center/HQ easily.
This of course continues in to both ops making both ops night ops.
We would leave in the beginning of the night (19.00) so we take advantage of the last daylight to deploy and then wait until night time to move out. We knock out the power station at the first brink of night so we have the full night for both ops.
Can we have the optional base be targeted by falcon so we have to worry about hostile helicopters coming and fucking us up.
During our op on Tuesday Falcon reported all helos are destroyed.
So, if we want to hit the most important objectives I would go: 3-2-1 for Friday and keep your order for Tuesday. 3 is likely an important house if they protect is that much and 2 seems like the main planning centre/command centre. 1 is just a power station from what I could tell.
The lighthouse base seems unimportant. Suurkyla objective seems to be a storage for ammo/weapons (screenshots)

I came up with an alternate plan for Friday (so we have options).
Edit: we do have nvg’s Because we don’t have nvg’s or anything like that I wouldn’t do a night op. It would hinder us as much as the enemies.
Elements needed: Falcon, Nightbird, Alpha, (DMT or MMG if we have the people)
In any case my plan is this: Isolate the remaining enemy bases. This is mainly achieved by taking away their ability to reinforce from outside the island. Therefore we start by attacking their island base in the NE. From there we attack Suurkyla, which together with the Eastern town we took yesterday and the Southern town we took last week is their last port town.
So far our attack plan has been something like this:
- Land a helo nearby to insert troops
- Bomb the enemy base
- Enter with ground forces
For the NE island this is also pretty much the plan I propose. Falcon does the initial bombing run, possibly taking out AA installations that have been reinstalled since Tuesday. Afterwards NB inserts us on the Southwest or Northern beach (these looks the least fortified). Once Falcon is done with its strikes on the island, it moves on towards Suurkyla and bombs as much of it as is possible (and takes out possible boats moving towards the island). Nightbird meanwhile provides aerial support at the island.
Once we have taken the island, Falcon moves off of Suurkyla and starts bombing objective C. Nightbird occupies two helicopters. One of them will "accidentally" get spotted while landing somewhere near objective C, and offload DMT/MMG or a very small group of infantry. Their task is to fire pot shots at the objective, but only from a safe distance, and to retreat and circle around if the enemy moves in on you. The goal is to draw any remaining QRF to the south. You don’t have to be effective, since we have misled them yesterday in our assault on the first objective, that we can be very ineffective when at first engaging a target ![]()
The main force of Alpha moves in stealthily by another nightbird helo North of Suurkyla. At least 5 minutes after the southern distraction element has started engaging objective C, they will enter in combat range and attempt to take the city from the north. Hopefully Falcons earlier bombing runs have taken out all AA so nightbird can provide support. And hopefully some troops have been sent away as QRF towards the south (or on boats to the east that have been sunk).
The plan kind of relies on us having ~15-17 people to be able to split up elements between two objectives, so do show up!
Also, I don’t know if I am overestimating the capabilities of Falcon and Nightbird here, but Nightbird was very effective last week and Falcon yesterday.
pretty sure we have NVG but its up to Dusty if he wants to use them or not.
You are right. One point though is that I am about 80% sure that I picked up a NVG from a killed enemy yesterday (just for fun, because we had daylight anyways). This means that our night advantage may well not be as large as we expect.
NVG will be provided.
I think it was established during scouting missions that the B objective on your map is so big it might warrant for it’s own OP. So I would not include that in a op with 2 other objectives.
We have 2 plans so far. Very curious who will be PTL and if he uses any of these plans.
Skippy do we need to settle on one time here so you can prepare?
C is not an objective, it is a distraction. Also 2/3 of Friday is as much time as a full Teusday OP to take B.
Skippy just said we need to settle on one time here. Since we only have half a day left to determine this I vote we go ahead with my plan and I will pick up PTL during Fridays op if everyone is cool with that. If so you can set the time to 19.00 Skippy and I request as soon as I give the go you forward the time to night time when we are set.
If anyone disagrees or wants to speak up then let me know.
No disagreement, I was just offering up an alternative.
I do think that 19:00 isn’t late enough for a night op. Suursari is located at high latitudes and we’re there in June I think, so even at midnight on an overcast night there’s still enough light to see by (as evidenced by our scouting op which was around 20:30-22:00). If we insert at around 22:45 we’ll have the darkest hours while we’re on the first objectives.
edit: misunderstood the timeskip part. should work great.
DO NOT DO A NIGHT OP. Skippy has penchant for adjusting thngs so that it doesnt offer us any real benefit and usually just makes things harder. Doing it at night is asking to get killed from nowhere. Under no circumstances do we want it at night
eyeroll
Can you stop putting this kind of thing out there. It’s not true. I adjust it to the difficulty of the mission that I want to make and I’ve already made it clear that during this campaign, weather and time are up to you guys for the most part, because you’d just wait for the "favourable conditions" if it was IRL.
Edit: I didn’t want to comment in this thread at all, but I don’t appreciate that kind of thing being spread especially when I’ve been the one who’s recommended the night op to people on the side.
It’s alright. If we notice after the first objective that it’s to hard we can wait until the break of down before we march out to the second while we hold up in the power station.
Fun is our number one priority in all our OPs and I believe Skippy knows this and will adjust accordingly ![]()
