Relations between the Kingdom of Sahrani (KoS) and Sahrani Socialist Republic (SSR) severely deteriorated in the past few months following arrests of dozens of Monarchy nationals in SSR. Diplomatic missions to secure their release failed after SSR accused arrested individuals of subverting the socialist order, actions against the state, and treason. Bogus trials were set up after which the captives were promptly executed.

KoS retaliated by introducing severe economic sanctions, which proved to be a major blow to economically weak SSR. In order to stifle growing unrest among its population, SSRs leadership decided to invade its wealthy neighbour and take its resources.

Royal Army Corps of Sahrani (RACS) was caught unprepared for such an attack and its formations quickly fell into disarray. Border city of Corazol, which is divided between KoS and SSR, quickly fell into SSR hands, which was followed by further mass arrests of civilians. Status of those civilians is currently unknown.

RACS is still regrouping and is unable to offer any real resistance to invaders, which is why the Emergency War Council of Kingdom of Sahrani decided to bring in Task Force Noctem to lead the effort of liberating the country and defeating the invaders.

OPORD

I Situation:

SSRs attack has been reppeled and its armies are now on the defensive. TFN has set up an FOB in the recently liberated fort codenamed FOB Sahm. RACS intelligence has intercepted communications indicating that the nearby town of Obregan containing a small base has been abandoned by SLA. RACS leadership has decided to use the opportunity to seize the town of Obregan and push the front lines further towards SSRs capital, even though the reports have not been verified. We have received a request from RACS to accompany a platoon of infantryman to Obregan and provide security while they are occupying the base.

After the town has been secured, you are to proceed to SSRs capital of Bagango, test the enemy defences and proceed with securing the city if deemed achievable. You will be used as shock troops spearheading the attack with RACS forces serving as support and protecting your flanks by advancing parallel to you and attacking the town of Mercalillo.
One of the more important objectives is to seize the Yellow Palace which serves as the seat of SSR government. If achievable, capture the broadcasting station located West of Bagango. Its possesion could prove valuable in the future. After capturing the city, hold it against any SLA counterattacks giving RACS forces time to get in positions and take the defence on themselves.

TFN is in possesion of armed transport helicopters. Although enemies anti-air capabilities have been severely diminished, be aware of any remaining AA emplacements.
Be advised that the altitude of SSR citizens is mostly negative and could turn hostile. SSR government has worked tirelessly to turn the populace against both the Monarchy and TFN, portraying Monarchy as decadent and TFN as foreign invaders. You are not to bring any harm to the unarmed populace and should use deadly force only if absolutely necessary. Less then lethal options are provided. To prevent any retalliation by RACS forces, you are to bring any incapacitated combatants and non-uniformed individuals to holding station at FOB Ramah located in the town of Modesta.

Looks like recon is going to be paramount to establish a plan. DMT would then be a useful element. Considering the assets we have, I think we should act as a mechanized infantry with the Gorgons like our good trainer Churizo taught us. Reaper could be used as CAS with a door gunner & for resupply & evacuation runs.

Is the terrain around Obregan & Bagango occupied by enemy forces or are they restricted to the urban areas?
For the defense of Bagango, do we have any special equipment?

I always forget to state which elements you have. You’ll have DMT, MMT, MMG, DGR and RPR at your disposal. As for location of enemy troops, we are certain Bagango is occupied. No info on surrounding areas, use DMT or RPR to scout after occupying Obregan. No special equipment provided, use what you have or what you capture.
