Please leave feedback. Especially if you want to play a few more missions as ODE.
I really enjoyed this mission, both for its faction and its originality.
+1 for drones, even though they were partly fucked
I’m a little disappointed our local leaders let the foreigners fuck with us, use our vehicles and tell us not to use them and tell us what to do. Didn’t see many people even consider playing the role, and were annoyed when I did. The setting I liked ofcourse, and have myself thought of doing a joint op like this before.
Nice one, sorry for the poor coordination towards the end was in a bit of a rush cuz I had stuff to do after. Couple o’ things:
- Alpha was completely unaware of secondary objectives, I understand that for roleplay purposes that might have been intentional but it doesn’t work
- Before assaulting first obj. PLT was dealing with nasty locals and their water tower, while we were on standby waiting for instructions. It’d be helpful to inform all elements why we’re waiting so we know that PLT isn’t unconscious and to dig in for a little while
- Definitely inform other elements about friendly rockets being fired around friendly locations, especially in a mission with either enemy mortar/artillery or enemy RPG presence. So we can all be happy that PLT isn’t being shelled or fired at while we’re somewhere else
- Coordination between Bravo and Alpha was very good the first two objs, but lacked cohesive plan for the 3rd and 4th. Mostly due to us running away from a heavy mortar shelling, but next time we should find another place and spend 5 minutes planning, can go a long way
- Although there were constant engagements throughout the mission, both Alpha and Bravo lacked action from time to time and for extended periods of time occasionally, maybe plop down more baddies to shoot at

Anywho, amazing map, love the villages.
I enjoyed the op as PLT, but it was incredibly hectic from start to end. Hectic isn’t bad, but it does have an impact on the decisions that were made.
At the start the people on the carrier got a more in-depth briefing, but during this time some elements on the mainland already got engaged. This meant that I wanted to regroup with them asap. Even when we did we only had a very short briefing with all leaders together, since there were still Russians coming in. This meant that some communication was lost in the rush (and to this moment I still don’t know what exactly).
So for everyone there were 2 main objectives (also marked on the map by me at the start):
- Repel Russian advance
- Destroy all AA in the area
I’m fairly certain that those goals were clear, but maybe they weren’t for Alpha since you weren’t on the carrier briefing.
There was one secret side objective to destroy the water tower so we could make more money selling the locals water. To achieve this I told the team to spread the word that the water tower was poisoned by the Russians, so the locals wouldn’t get angry at us.
Here I must’ve not been clear enough. It was always my intent for Alpha and Bravo to already be moving on obj. Water while I was dealing with the water tower. I only noticed on the replay alter that you tried to reach me for like 3 minutes already while that whole scene was going down, to know if you could assault.
Anyways, after that initial chaos I basically spent the whole op trying to keep Alpha and Bravo going from objective to objective without big delays (with mixed results). This was because the drones at 2509934 's disposal were very powerful both for scouting, but also taking out enemy AA. So any time I wasn’t directly busy with Alpha, Bravo or DMT I was trying to optimise drone usage.
In the middle of the op the resupply was delayed for a while due to enemy AA, which we had to take out before we could call in resupplies. This led to the longest delay for Alpha, Bravo and DMT I think.
On the topic of DMT, I just told them at the start "I won’t have time to micromanage you, stay safe, scout and take out targets where possible." They did this excellently.
Bravo and MAT I combined at the start. In hindsight I definitely wouldn’t do this again (also because it’s against the rules). I’d setup the PLT completely differently, but due to the awkward numbers we had and the late start we had already because nobody wanted to PLT lead I didn’t want to spend more time on the character selection screen. Then in the op I combined the elements since I didn’t have the capabilities to manage another separate element. I intended for Bravo to be as much an assault element as Alpha (as opposed to an OW element), but didn’t bring this intent across clearly enough at the start.
I completely agree here, except I don’t know how we could’ve handled it much better given that nobody was prepared for it. I think had we had a planning thread, we could’ve worked out a more realistic cooperation between the two factions. Now my priorities were to get the mission going and we couldn’t spend the first 30 minutes in a council with the village elders to decide how we would cooperate (would’ve been cool though!).
20330489 , what was that Bus explosion? PLT went to check it out, but got shot at. Since it was in a neutral village with no AA or Russians in it I decided just to ignore it.
In the end, lots of mistakes were made, but given the time pressure and complexity of the situation I’m still not unhappy about how things went.
Where is the CNTR entry for the OP guys? Did it bug out?

Enemy vic drove through the town and had a fight with locals. You guys actually passed each other but about 100m but missed each other. In the end, i think he got Droned.
Locals also had a secondary mission to attack a neutral village with goats. But I think this got a bit lost my fault. ![]()
Ye I was told about it at the start, but we didn’t have time for it in the end.
