OPORD

I Situation:

About half a year ago the famous DJ “Softwell” was taken captive by a guerrilla group on the main island of Tanoa. This guerrilla group has quite the influence and gained a lot of support from locals. Last night we received a distress call from one of the highest points in the map. We are going to do a para-drop into the main island and see if one or all of the journalists are there. If we find him and rescue him, we get them out.

Avoid the main roads and do not get spotted by locals or guerrilla! We want to get as close as possible without them knowing we are here. If we do get spotted then they will send in reinforcements.
We have 3 escape points where boats are prepared for us. We have to make it to one of them.

Red lines are the main roads that need to be avoided or we have to be very careful around.

So my plan would be to land to the South East of the Radio Signal (LZ Panda) and move into the area on foot and search for the journalists. Assuming we find them there, we’d move south to a small cluster of buildings and hopefully find some vehicles to exfil in (and drive to the main airport) else we’d hike through the mountains South West towards the airfield

Since we are running this Friday the 12th and it’s slightly altered I recommend making a plan.
I marked down 3 extracts for us. We have to make our way to one of them so it is best to be decided before hand together with the route.

I like Quantum’s LZ: open ground but nicely isolated from roads & with forest cover almost all around.
For elements, it’s always tricky do estimate numbers but I think I’d want to keep as much mobility as possible so Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Platoon. Ideally I’d like all 3 squads (even partially filled) to have 2 squads up front capable of covering each other & 1 squad for security / flanking manoeuvres.

Regarding movement, platoon travels in a vee to cover more ground through WP 1 & 2 before sweeping the area around WP3. Once the target is secured, platoon moves East towards WP4 & does not linger inside the target area.
I would aim to use Extract Luigi as it is relatively isolated & reachable on foot.
For the overall intent, I think we should focus on pushing through the trees fast & never stay in one place for long to never get stuck in a fight with guerilla reinforcements coming in.

If the guy isnt at the radio signal area then we’ll have to play it by ear as the best way to get to him and extract
