Really enjoyed this op. Think some were a little quick to pick up enemy weapons (think I managed to end the op with 8 mags as an AAR with only 1 person asking me for extra ammo) but other than that we worked really well and managed to keep moving and get to the safe zone in a decent time
Probably one of the best OP I have played in a good while, it really rekindled my love for ArmA after a few weeks of technical issues and bullshit.
Thanks M8
Was very fun. These escape missions are hard to make really all that interesting, but you pulled it off.
I thought the mission was too easy. I don’t think Bravo ever suffered wounds except for all the way in the end when an enemy mortar attack that was used to force us out. Even though in the end it meant keeping us behind for longer due to the wounds being taken from it. Maybe from Alpha or on long range it was hectic or more challenging but the whole mission felt like a walk in the park. Not just being too easy but also hardly having any contacts that we were asked to engage. Even though CNTR says we killed over 200, for me it didn’t feel like it.
Not saying I didn’t have fun. Just had no challenges from an AR perspective in Bravo.
I enjoyed myself as a FTL and I think anyone in leadership positions really had a lot of work to do navigating a rather difficult map. But they all did very well considering the chance of loosing contact with friendlies. For the ordinary grunt it might have been a bit samey and the difficulty the enemy had in spotting us when we were right next to them probably took away from the experience a little. Overall fun for me though.
I had a great time as PLT in this op. It was really challenging navigating without BFT and GPS while there never really was a moment’s rest to take the time to stop and discuss a detailed extraction plan after we found our position. This meant I had to micromanage Alpha and Bravo lead a lot more than I’d usually do, but they responded great to it did a great job to keep everything moving swift.
I only lost track of our position on the map once due to us veering farther of course during contact than I’d expected and aside from that moment I also always knew where Alpha and Bravo were relatively to me (even if they didn’t :D).
In general I really enjoy the few ops where actual navigation is a part of the mission.
