Again very sorry about the Stamina system. It has been replaced with our old preset again.

Thank God I did not took fire team role. This was one of the most fun missions played in one year. From the moment first shots were fired I just was trying to avoid being hit. Felt realistic, serious and surprising.
Even the stamina system was funny as we tried to deal with it.
The sheer panic around me, when we were pushed on one place, and the enemy were all around us, pinning us down in one small place, people being hit from distance and engaged by danger close enemy is remarkable. I just knew it s my end there. Surprising survived till somebody said it s possible to get towards the buildings and I’ve got killed by some MG or BTR.
When Alfa was pinned down, Churizo was unconscious. I personally called DMT direction out. There were enemies behind us which actually could shoot at you DMT, so just CNTR can show ff or not. (anybody can check positions of elements on the main map, unless the second in command does not take over after lead KIA)
In the reinsertion at 2100 we were so lucky that the AA gun did not shoot us !
Fun was being with the vehicle and using it as cover, being evacuated and the squad broke apart. We even lost Sagu when moving and I never heard his calls on the radio even when he did so, as he said - forest.
This mission was emotionally and by organization very difficult. I think this type of missions push as try the best and let us see on which level are we able to solve such situation (unpredictable). Nodoby should feel bad about today ! Training team should do some training drills for us like this op.
I had fun (was KIA just for 5 minutes + the game crash after shooting at the T-72) when we were pinned down, when we used the mrap and when attacking the tank - it was really nice attack. In the terrain is much more fun and tactical possibilities than clearing some village houses and getting killed by slow reaction, as we do not want friendly fire anybody.
BTW - incredibly well looking map ! Hope to see more missions on this one.
Edit: It was funny when I got to the storage house with the BMP and ours inside yet. And there is a guy with AK just standing next to the BMP like nothing is happening. So I asked what is this guy and he just disappeared, like deleted. And Yep, he disappeared into the BMP ![]()
I wanna apologise for my behaviour yesterday. I was incredibly frustrated at the end of those three hours. For me it was a constant struggle to keep my squad and DMT together between getting shot. All the while constantly being encircled and engaged. The stamina didn’t help either as instead of walking between my fireteams to get a good bearing I was now confined to laying in a hole while wheezing like an obese 14-year-old during a beeper test. Outside of the frustrating experience I’m also starting to buckle under the real-life stress of my ongoing exams.
While all of this is no excuse for my behaviour during and at the end of the op yesterday I hope you can look past this and not think any less of me for it.
Churizo
Okay. Where to start here. Positives first I think
Positives:
DMT had a fairly fun time after the 1st Objective, got a lot of shooting done and never felt too safe. The stamina system made it awkward to move positions quickly, but we managed and had a decent Op.
We managed to bring down 4/5 Objectives overall and things got much more in hand in the last 2.
Negatives:
This applies to ALL members. The correct attitude is important to ensure everyone is having the best time possible.
2.Chain Of Command
It’s extremely important that all members are aware of our Chain of Command (Which is visible in our CNTO Appendix guide) It’s also very important that Second In Commands (2IC’s) are aware of their role and are keeping an eye on their 1IC. When the 1IC goes down, whether to injury or death, the 2IC needs to step up to that leadership position ASAP. Failure to do this, or delay in this process, causes massive structure breakdown (Dependant on level of leadership.). It can even cause entire Elements to lose track of the bigger picture and become a disorganised rabble.
AAR’s, FTL’s, SL’s. All need to be aware constantly of whether they should be taking the lead when the 1IC above them goes down and doing so quickly. If you are not comfortable with taking a leadership position, or a position where you may be thrust into leadership, then please let somebody else take it or speak up early on so that a different 2IC can be appointed by the 1IC.
Equipment
It’s extremely important whenever we play a mission that involves new equipment of ANY kind, that the Mission Maker or the Zeus of the evening, or even someone knowledge in the equipment, takes the Platoon aside at the beginning of the op and explains how the equipment is used and/or operates. Even small changes such as a new AT stick facilitate the need to explain this at the beginning due to differences in effective ranges and sighting.
Custom Factions
In my opinion, they’re becoming far too frequent. We have our Standard Factions for a number of reasons and they should be the majority of what we play. Custom Factions should only be occasional segways into something fresh. Mission Makers should think when they are designing a mission whether a Custom Faction is needed for the story or Mission specific reasons or whether a Standard Faction would be perfectly acceptable. If the latter, the Standard should be used.
Balancing
Zeus’s/GM’s and Mission Makers have a difficult time balancing a Mission when creating it. This I understand extremely well. But the reason we have a Zeus on Ops is to ensure a fair balance is maintained at all times. There’s nothing wrong with difficult missions, but the Zeus SHOULD be constantly keeping up with the Platoon’s general mood and feeling about the Op whilst it develops and upscale/downscale the mission based on both their attitude and their numbers.
Sometimes a Squad can take on 7 AI Squads no issues. Other times they struggle with 2. It’s vitally important the Zeus always remains aware of this and adapts the mission on the fly. It may be fun for the zeus to watch whilst Alpha gets overrun for the 3rd time because their plan wasn’t great, but for the 10 people on the ground, it’s going to leave a bad mood and a bad taste in their mouth. The Zeus is there to make sure the players have fun, not to punish them repeatedly and overly. There is nothing wrong with giving the players a bit of leeway and simply feeding back their mistakes at the end on our forums.
If the GM had never expected to make a vehicle available to players but the situation has changed and there are calls for a vehicle for reinsert purposes, there is nothing wrong with telling people to wait whilst you spawn a fitting non-dlc vehicle in for the players to use.
Sometimes accidents happen and they’re unavoidable in certain situations (See point #2 Chain of Command.) It is still important to ensure you’re not firing at a friendly unit. If you FF someone, you should also make sure you APOLOGISE at the next possible opportunity to that person or unit. Don’t be ashamed of owning up to it and admitting the mistake. Otherwise the person who got shot (Especially if they were actively looking at you/trying to highlight they were friendly before you fired) is going to have a very sour taste in their mouth and we’re all here to have fun.
Very good post Skippy and I agree with the points that were raised. Couldn’t have worded it better.
Churizo it’s alright. I knew you were not having a good time that’s why I checked if you wanted to say anything. If you ever feel during an OP that things get to hairy or the real life stress creeps up, let me or others know and we can take over a role so you can have a more chill time with a less demanding role.
