We are called in to help the citizens of Chernarus. The ChDKZ rebels have captured an old abandoned russian military base near Gvodzno. We are to clear the base and make sure the ChDKZ do not launch a counter attack. The ChDKZ rebels have been firing mortars at nearby towns, causing many civilian deaths.
We have an FOB in Gorka.

OPORD

I Situation:

It’s the CNTO’s task to clear out the military base and destroy the 4 mortar positions. If there are civilians in the area it’s our task to get them out safe.
As a secondary mission, we have to clear the Spec OPS base. This opens up the entire North West of the map for our forces to move in on the airbase and naval base.

Friendly Forces:

[] CNTO Military Forces
[
] Platoon, Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, MMG, MAT, Mortars and NB are available

II Mission:

It’s the CNTO’s task to clear out the military base and destroy the 4 mortar positions. If there are civilians in the area it’s our task to get them out safe.

III Execution:

Commander’s intent

[] Clear out the military base and destroy the 4 mortar positions.
[
] If there is any more armor or Anti Air we are to report to HQ to ask for orders.

Clear the Spec OPS base

Movement Plan

Approach the military base near Gvodzno and destroy the 4 mortar positions.
They know we are here so they will be expecting us.

Fire Support

1x M109A6 fire mission (6 rounds)

Optional Tasks

Make sure no civilians are harmed.

IV Administration / Logistics:

Resupplying

Resupply Available at base

Reinforcements:

[] Reinsertions will be on the hour every hour and be adhered to strictly, no deviation is allowed. Reinsertions are the same for all, including vehicles teams.
[
] Platoon Commander has a one time reinsertion wild card at his disposal call this in through HQ.
[] At predesignated times, reinforcements will be sent out of the base in smallest transport vehicle which can hold reinforcements
[
] Upon insertion to the AO, reinforcements should stick together until regrouping with the main force in the AO

I have couple questions:

 • Are the villages North and South of the Army Base inhabited? What about Gvodzno?
 • Do we have access to anti-tank mines or other explosives even if we don’t have engineers?
 • Should we expect the enemy to have a QRF on standby?
 1. The villages are occupied by civilians and possibly enemies or undercover enemies. The red line represents the line from where we deem it "safe". Anything to the north of the red line we have no intel on.
 2. No. I would highly suggest taking MAT in case there is armor or anything other that is heavy. However the army base that is taken over did have an armory so there might be goodies there.
 3. It depends what our priorities are. In this mission our tasks are to attack the Spec OP base and the Army base. Depending on which objective we focus first we might get a QRF from one of the other bases. Since the Air base has helos and possibly fast movers on stand by we should be on the look out. If we attack the army base the spec op base is quite far away but the dock and air base are closer. The Spec op base is the furthest away so we are not expecting any QRF except maybe air transport or anything other that is send from the air base.

Tentative plan to be updated after reconnaissance. Will think about Spec Op Base.

Russian Army Base

- Elements:
PLT / MAT / Alpha (5-pax min) / Bravo (5-pax min) / Nightbird

- Assets:
M2 Humvees (1 manned by PLT) / Blackhawk

- Movement plan:
MAT team dropped by Nightbird on LZ Hotel. MAT then moves on foot to ORP India to recon North of objective & identify ambush site for potential enemy QRF.

PLT, Alpha & Bravo drive to ORP Golf.
Alpha & Bravo dismount and attempt to make their way up to WP2 & 3. Squads proceed with recon: marking targets & identify avenues of approach to objective

PLT moves to .50 BoF with M2 Humvee.

Attack begins with 6 rounds of 155mm on identified targets followed by direct fire from M2 machine gun.
Alpha & Bravo coordinate to move on OBJ.
Nightbird stays in the air for warning of potential enemy QRF & on standby to exfil troops.

Forces regroup at ORP Kilo. Casualties & MAT evacuated to base by Nightbird for treatment & resupply.
Other members of the platoon drive back in safe zone to FOB Gorka.

Flying behind the red line with no ground recon is not recommended. You also forgot about the second objective. The spec op base. It’s Platoons choice which objective to do first but eliminating the spec op base will eliminate the thread of a counter attack from the west/NW. Also I would never use a 3 man MAT team to recon and split off. They will have a very bad time.

I didn’t forget about the spec op base but was rather considering to focus on the main objective since taking 2 military bases seemed ambitious considering our numbers.
If flying in is to risky, we can stick to the ground vehicle deployment with MAT team attached to a Squad.
To counter a possible QRF, the weapons squad will remain outside of the objective and push North to setup a defense in a location identified during recon while the other squad fully clears the base.
