Really liked the mission overall.
As I said in the debrief there were a few things that we can improve upon, foremost being that fireteams need to provide security at all times outside of the base. As a fireteam leader if you see the fireteam bunching up around the leaders to have a chat it’s important to step up and give the order to set up a 360. The most prominent example was during the last reinsert at the resupply box location but there were a number of similar incidents throughout the mission (at least from 10pm onwards).
While it was entertaining at the time the main job of any helo pilot is to get his passengers safely from A to B. So unless one is absolutely sure a function such as static line will actually work safely it should not be used in an active mission even if we are "just" going home for debrief. We don’t shoot each other at base, we shouldn’t kill each other by gravity either. In short: don’t throw half a squad out of the helo with no parachutes.
Regarding the incident with the mines that was an entirely self-inflicted wound wiping out the majority of the platoon. :LOL: Never make assumptions on the lethality of an explosive device, always treat them as if they were 100% deadly.
I’ve really grown to love the 80ies faction and I think we could improve their early 80ies feel even more by removing certain items that are currently a bit out of place such as the IR strobes and GPS. I’d even find it really cool if short range radios were to be limited to FTLs and SLs.
