Not havin scopes is cool, no problem. But in combination with the noodle arms mod, automatic riflemen (atleast me), need tracers, to be able to do anything really. More of a comment on the faction, Even after we remove the mod, I think AR’s should have tracers in usual situations.
Was going to write exactly this too. I was shooting from the hip the entire op because the iron sights were useless, since you the time to get lined up is too long when you need to do semi-long range precise shooting in a hurry. This was particularly a problem in this op because setting up on the angle needed was near to impossible at all times, so that buff to stability was gone as well.
Forgot to add: I do really like that we had to make the entire FOB during the mission with supplies that we had to deliver ourselves, made it much more immersive and interesting than a lot of defense missions tend to be. Would really hope to see something like this again, though perhaps on a hill that is a little more forgiving for the tools we have to work with so we can set up bipods, shoot over our own walls, etc.
Liked the mission though getting defenses how we wanted them was rough with the slopes.
Good effort on the Engi’s even if there was a bit of grumbling can’t have it all. ![]()
The choice of static MG was unfortunate, the protective plates are nice and all but if we can’t actually get enough depression to shoot that becoms a moot point.

I had a thonk, when we were getting overwhelmed and eventually got overrun. Besides calling a retreat I think this may have worked.
Mattdoggs pilling down UGL smokes on their position to:
- Reduce incoming fire and or accuracy
- Allowing us to get some control and vision back on the situation
- Kill enemies as they come out of the smoke and be vulnerable and us being ready for them.
Think that would’ve been viable enough to at least consider in the future?
